Right now we are doing final checkings on everyones availability and health status while making rapid changes based on the fact that games are now at Narva.

While we feel bad for Estonian hockey and Tallinn about this move we have to say that we are thankful for the city of Narva to support the games in such a short notice.

  1. Why Kolpakov not in Main roster.. who was playing all season.(about 40 games) and still playing. But Pelle Sildre is in, he played this season 4-5 games...and Narvet, who doesn't practice at all..

Also..Kaspar Karik played games in HHL (amateur league in Tallin), and he was on the same level like others amateurs..and he is in, but there is no Aleksandr Kuznetsov at all, but he is one of the best is Estonian Meisterliga..where is justice?? (sorry for my english)

  2. Thank you for the information! Some fans are surprised why few former key players (Kuznetsov,Polozov) are missing from the preliminary roster. Would be nice to hear some short comments on the issue. Anyway, good luck for the championships!

  3. Ismo and myself have selected the team that we feel is best possible one to achieve results (to win the tournament is our goal). That's the first guide for selections and it is not possible to choose a team that everyone would be satisfied with.

Second point is that some players have violated the team rules where we told everyone we have zero tolerance. First violation and you are out of the team, no excuses. This is the reason for some players, but it is not fair for us to say names publicly. We want players that are committed to the team and it's rules.

Having said that you can see that we have registered additional players with IIHF and doing final checkings right now. There can still be changes to the roster once we confirm the information we have received from various sources.

Nice to see comments. Shows that people have interest and passion for hockey. Hope we can build a bit more hockey culture this season with our national team and this way help the great game of hockey at Estonia.

  4. Thank you for the response! It is logical, that coaches make the decisions about the roster - they are those who also bear responsibility for the results. And, of course, if there are strict rules they have to be followed by all team members. I also appreciate your decision not to reveal the names who have violated the rules. Professional approach! So, we will wait for the forthcoming news about forming the final roster and of course we hope, that goal set up for the tournament will really be achieved!
